The Graduate Program in Geography at the Southwest Bahia State University (PPGeo-Uesb), a Master’s in Geography program, was authorized by CAPES on March 3, 2016, and the Doctorate program was approved in September 2024, with the class starting in 2025, according to Public Notice 207/2025.
The PPGeo-Uesb aims to contribute to the development of critical and qualified individuals to work in teaching and research in public and private institutions, contributing to professional development, especially in the state of Bahia.

The program trains Master’s and Doctoral students in Geography, focusing on the Production of Geographic Space. It emphasizes the teaching of geography, the dynamics of nature and territory, and the production of urban and rural spaces.
