Monitoring of Postgraduates
The PGQUI Secretariat and Coordination have continuously followed the academic and professional lives of postgraduates through social networks, email, Lattes curriculum and telephone. The necessary information for all postgraduates is obtained and updated in an Excel spreadsheet. The postgraduates are monitored by consulting the following requirements:
1) Academic destination;
1.1) Institution, place and study area in the doctoral degree;
2) Professional destination;
2.1) Function performed by the graduate in the institution/work company.
The results observed by the analysis of the 173 postgraduates, graduated until the end of 2019, showed that the PGQUI has been an extremely important Program for the insertion of new professionals trained to work in the region, both with regard to teaching and in the technological area.
SOCIAL INSERTION
The region where the PGQUI is inserted is lacking in specialized human resources in the area of Chemistry and related disciplines, and the PGQUI has significantly contributed to changing this scenario by providing professionals in the area covered by the UESB and other institutions with conditions to qualify at the Stricto Sensu level. As a master course located in the interior of Bahia, the PGQUI has a broad socio-economic impact and a positive development has been observed, corroborating regional development. This virtuous influence comes from financial support, through granting master scholarships to almost all postgraduate students (96%), continuing with the verticality or social mobility and professional performance achieved by most postgraduates.
The results observed by the analysis of the 184 postgraduates showed that the PGQUI has been an extremely important Program for the insertion of new professionals trained to work in the region, both in terms of teaching and in the technological area.
