UESB Enters into Agreement with the University of Iowa, USA
by Rone Eduardo
In March of this year, the PPEGEd/Uesb participated in the Symposium “International Perspectives on Graduate and Post-Graduate Education,” held in the United States, and as a result, entered into an agreement with the College of Education of the University of Iowa (USA). The agreement aims to foster international cooperation in terms of conducting research and Graduate experiences.
The PPGEd/Uesb was present at the Symposium through a paper approved by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). PPGEd’s participation involved institutional presentations, paper presentations, the explanation of studies carried out by the Institution’s researchers, and the presentation of the scientific training structure, showcasing the research lines followed by the Program.
Professor Luiz Artur dos Santos Cestari (DFCH/PPGEd), who attended the event, explains the importance of this partnership for Uesb: “Firstly, it is a work focused on the internationalization of Graduate Studies and especially the University with English-speaking countries, and the agreement provides for this articulation to strengthen the recently created Graduate Program in Education at the University.”
“This agreement will provide not only the exchange of professors and students but also joint publications between PPGEd professors and University of Iowa (USA) professors, thus configuring the internationalization of PPGEd, meeting one of CAPES’ requirements for a good qualification of the Program,” states Professor Nilma Margarida de Castro Crusoé, coordinator of the Graduate Program in Education (PPGEd).
Also as a result of the partnership, the 5th National Seminar of the Research Group on Public Policies, Management, and Educational Praxis (Gepráxis) and the 2nd International Symposium on Graduate Studies in Education – Cooperation between North and South America will take place from December 1st to 4th. The event will feature paper presentations, lectures, and thematic roundtables, involving the participation of Brazilian universities, as well as universities from Argentina, Chile, Europe, and the United States.
