The PPGEN has a concentration area in Teaching in Basic Education and three research lines:
- Teaching, Languages, and Diversities
- Teaching, Policies, and Educational Practices
- Teaching and Learning of Exact, Experimental, and Natural Sciences
CONCENTRATION AREA: Teaching in Basic Education
The concentration area of the Graduate Program in Teaching brings together studies and research focused on teaching, development, application of concepts, and dissemination of knowledge in the Basic Education classroom. It also focuses on policies and practices for teacher training in Basic Education.
Line 1: Teaching, Languages, and Diversities
This line is dedicated to studying the processes of teaching and learning Portuguese Language (reading, writing, literature, grammar, rewriting), literacy and literacy practices in Basic Education. It investigates curriculum theories and practices, educational inclusion, the intersubjective processes of the teaching-learning relationship, and the issues of race, gender, and sexuality present in teaching materials, teacher training, and pedagogical practices in Basic Education.
Line 2: Teaching, Policies, and Educational Practices
This line focuses on studying the processes of teaching and learning in the humanities (history, geography, philosophy, sociology), public policies, educational practices, evaluation processes, and management at various levels and modalities of Basic Education. It also investigates the policies, theories, and models of initial and ongoing teacher training for Basic Education.
Line 3: Teaching and Learning of Exact, Experimental, and Natural Sciences
This line investigates issues related to the teaching and learning process of content in the Exact, Experimental, and Natural Sciences, utilizing new technologies that contribute to improving teaching, particularly in Mathematics, Science, Physics, and Biology in Basic Education.
