Financial Support for Events and Field Research

PPGREC offers two types of financial support for participation in academic events:

  • Through resources from the Internal Program for Financial Aid to Stricto Sensu Graduate Programs (AuxPPG), the Program provides airfare and or ground transportation and covers the event registration fee.
  • Through resources from the annual Call for Applications of Financial Aid for UESB Graduate Students, PPGREC provides BRL 2,400.00 to the student, who is responsible for covering all expenses related to the event, including registration, meals, accommodation, and local transportation.

It is not permitted to combine resources from both funding categories. Students must choose the modality that best meets their needs. Both types of financial support are subject to budget availability and the validity period of the respective funding lines.

PPGREC does not provide per diem allowances to students presenting papers at events, as these resources are allocated to maintaining instructional activities conducted by faculty members who are not based in Jequié.

Financial support for event participation will only be approved for requests that meet the following prerequisites:

  1. A letter of acceptance for the paper to be presented, which is mandatory for requesting funding;
  2. The event must be national or international in scope and have ISSN-registered proceedings;
  3. The paper must be submitted jointly with the student’s advisor;
  4. An extended abstract or a full paper must be published in the event proceedings;
  5. During the presentation and in the publication of the paper, acknowledgements must be made to CAPES, PPGREC/UESB, and additionally to FAPESB in the case of students funded by this agency.

The deadline for funded students to submit financial accountability is up to five business days after returning from the event, upon submission of the following documentation:

  • Certificate of participation in the event and paper presentation;
  • Travel tickets;
  • And any additional documents required by the applicable Call for Applications.
